I believe many of us love to have. We want to be able to meet financial and material obligations as at when required. We hate to be in need; living a life of insufficiency and lack. Naturally as people with ego, we hate to beg and depend on others to support and assist us frequently. We all cherish a situation where we are giving and helping others out. We hate to be a victim of poverty and lack. I hate poverty and I'm sure you do too.
Many keep confessing and endlessly state the fact that they hate poverty and can't afford to be poor. In fact some have referred to poverty as a disease! I've been thinking lately and I've been a bit curious so I asked this question, what exactly is poverty? What is poverty?
Wikipedia online dictionary defines poverty as the state of being inferior in quality or insufficient in amount leading to privation, neediness, destitution and indigence. I must confess I was a bit taken aback by this definition because I was looking for a definition connected to lack of cash; I was looking for a definition that would say something about money! Incidentally, nothing like it.
Then it struck me, poverty is not a matter of cash, it's a state of mind. Poverty has nothing to do with your pocket or bank balance, its more about your quality as a person and having enough stuff, sufficient stuff to offer.
Take a look around and you may see why people are poor. Talk to some people and you'll understand why many are poor. I believe it's more about a thinking or mindset gap; it's more about the quality of their persons and not the economic state of the nation.
You see poverty and riches are both states of being. A rich man is not just a man with a loaded bank account, but a man with the ability to create wealth anytime and in any economy. Having a lot of cash doesn't make you rich because cash can finish and not having money at a moment doesn't make you poor if you have the capacity to create wealth.
That's why you see a lot of poor people with billions in their accounts still stealing public and private funds. And you see a rich man creating jobs and employment opportunities for many people purely out of his quality of mind and creativity without billions in his bank account!
Poverty is not just a matter of cash, it's a matter of the mind.
Going back to our definition, poverty we defined as a state of inferior quality or insufficient in amount.
The big question is, how rich are you mentally? Are you a thinker? Are you creative? Can you think up practical, realistic and workable solutions to various problems confronting our world today? Do you even understand the problems of the world or you just react and talk about the effect and consequence; finger pointing and placing blames on everything and everybody; is that what your mind is capable of doing. Or you belong to those with superior mind-sets that analyse problems and think solution?
Is your mind capable of solving problems and proffering solutions better than many minds around you? Who consults you for counselling or advice? Who comes to you for problem solving? Who seeks you for ways out? What stuff is your mind made up of?
Wealth creation is not manufacturing currency with your mind, it's the ability to think up and activate solutions to career challenges, business issues, social problems and general life issues then get paid for it. The more superior the quality of your thinking, creativity and invention, the higher the cash reward you'll attract! Wealth creation is the ability to think up better and more efficient ways of doing things; improving the quality and ease of living – from engineering, to social order to legal issues, to medical problems, ecological issues to communication, IT to education, management capacities to invention. It is about the quality of a man's mind! Poverty is never about your bank account it's always about your mind account.
If you can't solve problems you can't be rewarded, if you can't create value, you can't create wealth.
I want to be exceptionally creative, I want to solve problems and I want to add value to my world, you too can join me and with you and me, we can make our world better.
IT BEGINS WITH US.
