In concluding this series of articles, kindly permit
me to in.troduce you to the man of the moment.
The beginning of the man whom this piece is dedicated
to, the man whose life is a watershed for hope and rejuvenation.
A humble man
who began his life convinced about the things that he believed in, and
acknowledgeable in the direction he was headed, a man, with an outstanding
physical beauty (handsomeness) and inner nobility, a man, who early in his
life, find the path of destiny, and in trust, he faithfully followed it, a man,
with an unrelenting patience and an unflinching commitment to excellence, a man
thoroughly possessed with the spirit of truth and justice, a man, who in all
simplicity and humility presented himself in response to the call for a
daunting national duty when the National Association of Nigerian Students
(NANS) was gasping for breath, a man, who found no alternative to hard work and
who, through steadfastness and determination, is now the toast of the Etsako
people.
Such is the life of this rare gem, this worthy
Agenebode son, this outstanding comrade of international repute, rising from a
humble background to the circle of celebrities – Comrade Jude Gabriel Imagwe,
PDP candidate, Etsako Federal Constituency by-election.
Comrade Jude, transparent and result oriented;
revivalist and reconstructive strategist; comrade with a profound missionary
vision and regenerative passion – to
represent Etsako people; fine gentleman with a demonstrable will for
excellence; dreamer whose dreams will not be short-circuited; voyager sure of
his routes and trajectories, incurable optimist who believes that with hard
work and a faith in God no dream is unattainable; practical Christian with a
profound zeal for the things of God.
Jude Imagwe will never miss a morning mass week in
week out and both in and outside the country. Such is the life of this devoted Christian.
A man of peace
with zero tolerance for violence; judicious utilizer of resources for the common
good of all; and students’ mobilizer with over
a decade of unbroken record.
His nomination to fly the PDP flag never came as a
surprise because we have always yearned for a breath of fresh air with youth
inclusiveness in governance alongside effective representation.
“I want to
congratulate Comrade Jude Imagwe on his victory at the PDP primaries… I believe
he [Jude] has what it takes to represent our constituency [Etsako Federal
Constituency].
His personal discipline, with vast background
in student activism, will see him making tremendous progress in the National
Assembly,” said Inobhemhe Ken, a Facebook user.
Although Comrade Jude has no strong parliamentary
background except while he was in the parliament of the Students' Union of the
University of Benin, in Edo State, we are however hopeful that he will learn
the ropes quickly like many other parliamentarians having served in his Alma Mata,
the great UNIBEN SUG as a students' representative and I was reliably told that
he represented his constituents credibly and effectively.
His sheer charisma and an iron determination is an
added advantage.
Etsako people are fortunate as a people, to have the
calibre of person in Comrade Jude as their Representative-in-waiting.
He is a thorough breed politician, representing the
new generation of the Nigerian youth.
He offered on the platter of his stewardship, whilst
he served as Senior Special Assistant, Youth and Students to former President
Goodluck Jonathan, the rare qualities of accountability, finesses, prudence,
patriotic zeal, decorum, civilised conduct, responsibility, order, integrity
and loyalty to the wishes and aspirations of Nigerian students.
It is with
humility and deep sense of responsibility; and in the abiding faith that good
works deserved to be rewarded; that those who do good deeds to man and humanity
deserved to be honoured, that I call on all well meaning and progressive Etsako
sons and daughters to give their votes to Comrade Jude Imagwe in the January
28th parliamentary bye-election.
CONCLUDED.
